​March 2023 - The whole town comes out to celebrate Carnival in Cabarete at the end of March. It takes place right on the beach, in front of the bars and restaurants with sand underfoot and swaying palms overhead. You won't even be required to leave your sun lounger, as the whole spectacle unfolds in front of you. However, if you are feeling more energetic, visitors are always welcome to take part in the parade. An afternoon of processions and dancing leads into a night of celebration. It is an event not to be missed, if you wish to witness the spirit of DR at its finest.
