"I stayed at the Hotel Alegria for a month in March 2022 and it was just lovely - friendly, welcoming, staff could not do enough for me. It was just a few steps from the hotel to the beach bars and restaurants, where one could dine with toes in the sand. It was also a couple of minutes walk to the best supermarket in Cabarete, and other shops. Hotel Alegria is at the end of the bay, giving stunning sunset views, and you can either walk left along the main part of the beach, or walk right to find rock pools and totally deserted sands which you can often have completely to yourself. I rented a motorbike to get around easily, but I spent most days just enjoying the mature gardens, the rooftop terrace and the atmosphere of this lovely small hotel."
"It was my 3rd time staying at the hotel . Love everything about the hotel; they treat you like family . Everything is so close. I will definitely return . They have a small restaurant which was very good."
"Nice area and great hotel on the beach. The rooms were nice and clean, and there is a restaurant on the ground floor. No elevators so there are stairs to climb to your rooms. Cheap rates for a nice room."
"My husband and I spent a wonderful week in September at Hotel Alegria. Our room had sliding glass doors and a patio where we had coffee every morning. From this hotel we could walk to the beach and its restaurants, down the main road of shops, and to the local grocery store for fabulous bakery bread and anything else we needed. Staff was helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable. This was our second trip to the DR, and our second stay at this hotel. We hope to return soon."
"This was the 5th or 6th time we came to stay at the Alegria. The place feels like home; love the fact it's small and all the staff knows you and your preferences. This year we were there for 3 weeks and again it was wonderful. Staff is amazing and super helpful should you have a concern. We stayed in one of the garden rooms, and loved the patio at night. Nice and quiet with the ocean waves for ambiance. The location is second to none; minutes to walk to anywhere in Cabarete. And beautiful long beach walks can be taken to the East and the West. Love this place, Will be back again!"
"I have been staying here for years and always stay here when I come to Cabarete. It's in a peaceful location which I particularly like. It's out of the noise but close enough to walk to the nightlife and restaurants. Love the place and will always return!"
"I chose Hotel Alegria because I wanted to stay in a cozy, safe setting near the downtown and with easy access to the beach. ...and that's exactly what I got. The immediate beach access is heavenly, and I found the room and upper terrace view charming. The wi-fi in the room was very strong which was important for me as I was partly traveling for business."
"Downtown Cabarete can feel a little hectic, so it was nice to stay a bit off the main road and yet still walking distance to all the action. I often walked along the beach instead of the road just to get where I was going, and that is quite easy and pleasant to do."
